Plan Carefully When Having Your Wedding Abroad

For many, the idea of marrying a foreign wedding is bliss. Jetting off to some fabulous country, getting away from the stresses of home life and getting married to the person you love. Getting married abroad can be a wonderful experience and a great option for many people. You can’t just book your hotel and get someone to feed the cat whilst you’re away though, there are lots of points to consider first. Here are the three things that should be top of your organisational list.

Cost
. People don’t realise until they start booking things up that getting married abroad can be very expensive. Transportation aside, doing simply things like sorting catering and places to stay for everyone seems to frequently cost more when doing it all in another country. You may not be putting people up in a castle hotel, but costs still add up. If you are stretching yourself to make the wedding work financial then you won’t enjoy it for worrying.

Family
. Sometimes weddings are as much about the family present as the couple themselves. Most couples simply cannot afford to pay for everyone to get over, so people often have to find their own way. Depending on where the wedding is, that could be very expensive and some people may not be able to travel for medical reasons. You should consider just how practical it is for everyone before you announce your grand idea to shoot off somewhere nice for the big day.

Laws
. It is very easy to forget that laws vary in every country of the world and when you are on their turf you play by their rules. In your home country it might be fine to get married in bars, fields or castle wedding venues, but abroad you might find that the wedding is only legal if it takes place in a church or similar. What is more, when it comes to booking an official to conduct the wedding ceremony, you might face some issues finding one of the right faith when doing it in other countries.
