Making The Perfect Wedding Flowers
Flowers play an integral part in any wedding ceremony. More than just a decoration though, wedding flowers have now become a tradition. A wedding would be quite incomplete without these fragrant gifts of mother earth.
They are more than just something nice to look at; they represent new hope and a prosperous future. The bride feels her wedding to be akin to a fairy tale if the preparation and presentation of the flowers is done correctly.
Not just any flowers presented in any way will suffice for a wedding though; preparing wedding flowers requires a special approach…
1) Choosing Flowers
Always keep the theme and colors of the wedding in mind when choosing what flowers to use. The flowers should complement the other aspects of the wedding, not distract from them, and so a good idea is to match and blend the flowers with color and style of the brides dress. The types of flowers you choose are also important, so do not just focus on the color. Do a little research and find out what flowers are in season at the time of the wedding. By being knowledgeable about this, you can get the freshest looking flowers at the best possible price.
2) Additional Materials
You will need more than just the flowers themselves. Good scissors, florist tape and ribbons will also be required in order to turn a standard bunch of flowers into a bouquet of flowers that is fit for the bride to carry down the aisle. Consider buying, or renting from a library, some books on the topic too, so that you can learn some little tricks and tips.
3) Creation Of The Bouquets
This is one of the many various ways that you take your flowers and arrange them into a beautiful bouquet. Start by choosing three flowers that you want to use as the centerpiece of your arrangement. Puff air into the center of each flower to give it a fuller look. Put them together, creating a triangle. Stack each flower unevenly; each one should have a slightly different level of height. This technique adds dimension to your arrangement. Continue to add two or three flowers at a time to this initial triangle, until the arrangement resembles a dome. At the is point, use some florist tape to secure them together by their stems. This is really more than a one person job as, for a perfect result, you will need one person to hold the flowers together (there could be well be 36 in a single bouquet) whilst the other one tapes them.
4) Add The Final Touches
Finally, finish the arrangement with suitable ribbons that match the color of the flowers and the wedding dress. You can tie them up in a bow. Be sure to cover all the florist tape with ribbons. Carefully cut the excess stems with a sharp scissor approximately an inch below the ribbon. One this has been done, place the bouquet in a vase of water until the moment they are need in order to retain optimal freshness and scent.
